For example:
A California utility used GridX as the analytics backbone of their TOU transition, including a rate comparison tool that delivered a 400 percent increase in usage, while seeing a rise from 66% to 82% in customers believing they are getting the best rate.
A midwestern utility rolled out a default TOU rate program on GridX to 1.6 million residential customers.
Coupled with their clean energy plan, more than 75,000 smart thermostats were sold and 40,000 customers enrolled in demand response programs, averaging a 10% savings on their bill.
Additionally, an east coast utility with 1.1 million customers integrated their on-premise customer information system with the GridX cloud-based billing engine and rate modeling tool.
They gained population-wide insights, and individual customer bill impacts of proposed rate designs, as well as utility revenue impact simulations. The success of this effort has led the utility’s regulator to embrace a full-scale opt-out TOU implementation.
